Do your part for the environment and shift to cleantech blockchain solutions like Ghost, based on Proof of Stake, instead of Monero or Bitcoin which are based on Proof of Work.

Proof of Work systems like Bitcoin or Monero, mint new coins by running senseless algorithms that only consume power to prove that some work was done, but these algorithms don’t provide any additional value to the network besides wasting a lot of electricity.

Proof of Stake blockchains like Ghost mint new coins by staking, a method of locking up one’s coins to secure the network. Staking not only supports…

May is set to become the largest payout of Ghost Veteran Rewards (GVR). At 00:00 UTC June 1st, we will take a snapshot of all eligible Veterans on the blockchain. Each Veteran splits their respective share of the 154,000 $GHOST on a per node basis.

The Ghost team has found a critical issue in the RingCT code which requires a hardfork Friday, March 5th, at 11:00am CST. Please update your Ghost Desktop Wallet and Nodes immediately. https://github.com/ghost-coin/ghost-desktop/releases

The team has been working around the clock to fix this critical issue and make the necessary preparations. To fix this issue, Ghost requires an immediate hardfork which will also temporarily disable RingCT and CT transactions up until a second hardfork soon to come.

To ensure the smoothest hardfork possible, it is paramount that users urgently download and install the new Ghost Desktop:

Privacy, once a hallmark of Bitcoin’s code, has become pseudonymous and not anonymous. What this means is that for every transaction on Bitcoin’s network, a user can trace back its origin to an individual’s wallet. Quantity of bitcoin, time sent/received, who it was sent from, where it was sent to, all of these values are visible on the blockchain. Not to mention the user’s IP address which deeply underscores any level of security within a network. Bitcoin fails to fulfill the original meaning of the word, private.

At block height 140536, Ghost successfully upgraded its core to 0.19.1.9 and the Ghost desktop wallet to 2.0.8. The wallet update fixed a few issues regarding code signing & notarizing on certain operating systems.

Core 0.19.1.9 created a new genesis wallet for the Dev fund. This will ensure the team has the funds to advance future projects while setting up the bounty portal.

Please update to the latest version if you haven’t already done so.
