New Wallet Update — Ghost 2.0.7
In this update we have added new features and minor bug fixes.
A major addition that we’ve added is the ability to Cold Stake. This will allow you to setup a VPS (Virtual Private Server) that will stake your coins 24.7 without the need for your wallet to stay open. Additionally this also opens the door to quickly join cold staking pools where a third party maintains a VPS for you. Of course before joining any pools please do your own research. Finally several updates to the previous “zap” functionality have been extended upon and adjusted for Ghost Core.
Second to that, minor fixes related to hot staking and status within the wallet have been made. There were also a few minor text updates throughout.
Finally, something to make note of, is the “Legacy Import” checkbox that has been added to the wallet restore page. In order to fully implement Cold Staking we have made changes to how wallets are restored and backed up using a mnemonic phrase or private key. If you’ve created a wallet on the previous wallet you’ll need to check this box if you wish to restore in the future.
Updating to the new wallet will automatically have your existing wallets and history loaded in.
Thanks everyone! We will continue working to further improve Ghost for you guys. If you run into any issues or bugs please report them on Github or ask an admin in chat.
