Ghost-Core version 0.23.0.0 has just been released! This is a mandatory update! If you do not update, you will lose participation in the blockchain and you will be unable to talk with other nodes after the scheduled hard fork on March 20 at block height 975076.

Over 100 commits have gone into this update alone and there are still several other developments still in progress!

Included in this release is continued development for On-Chain Governance, reward distribution correction, faster sync times, improvements surrounding the AGVR protocol, improvements for macOS compatibility, a fix for anon transactions with locked wallets upon new address creation, foundational support for Taproot, and other housekeeping improvements.

With this update also comes aligning with Bitcoin Core 25x, underscoring a significant commitment to security, performance, and innovation. In other words, we are on par with the foremost standards in the cryptocurrency space. Ghost not only inherits robust security measures, but also ensures network resilience against vulnerabilities. This alignment brings enhanced transaction speeds and network efficiency, which is crucial for scaling and meeting our ever expanding userbase. Furthermore, this helps reduce the amount of development needed to integrate advanced features and helps maintain our competitive edge. Overall, this has been a massive undertaking as Bitcoin’s Core is constantly evolving. Matching Bitcoin Core 25x propels the Ghost blockchain forward, fortifying its infrastructure and ensuring its relevance in the fast-evolving cryptocurrency landscape.
