August 16th Fork
Thank you all for your patience during this time. The Ghost team has worked long sleepless hours sorting out post fork issues unable to be foreseen. Dandelion++ has posed more than one challenge to get it running smoothly. There were many unscrupulous attempts to force anonymous transactions through the network, while none of them succeeded, at least several created delays. We are still working on some known network issues.
Dandelion++ is a major improvement and network solution designed to help obfuscate users IP’s while transacting. This protocol has various algorithms built-in to overcome known attack vectors that attempt to de-anonymize users and link transactions. You can read more about dandelion here:
With the addition of Dandelion++ finalized, Ghost is now the first and only blockchain that operates under a Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm utilizing RingCT, Bulletproofs and Dandelion++ technologies.
Anonymous Transactions
Due to the nature of bad actors, anonymous transactions are enabled only in a “restricted format” temporarily until we give the “all clear”. This will occur by users sending the total of their pre-fork anonymous funds in a single transaction, to an address that we will provide. From there, we will ask for a simple proof of ownership, which can be done via screenshots and transaction hashes — allowing us to verify that you obtained those funds legitimately and can prove it. Any funds that are not converted across during this “restricted format” phase (TBD) will be forfeited and won’t be usable when full anonymous mode is re-enabled. More information related to this matter will be disclosed at a later date.
If you make a new anon transaction by mistake, you will need to abandon the transaction and rescan in the Debug window by using both of the below commands:
abandontransaction txid “then” rescanblockchain
VPS COLD STAKING
New VPS cold staking is successful using the original guide and also helps secure the network:
Before using your public key in the wallet, it is wise to check your ghost daemon status:
~/ghostman/bin/ghostman.sh status
If your ghost daemon is not listening you can use the command:
sudo apt-get install net-tools
Also, if for some reason you need to restart ghost daemon, you can use this command:
~/ghostman/bin/ghostman.sh restart now
Note: If you need to update your existing VPS cold staking follow the steps at the end of this guide:

POOL COLD STAKING
Pool cold staking from myghost.org is now paying out successfully.
Note: staking rewards from earlier may be delayed or cancelled depending on when you updated your desktop wallet.
GHOSTX.LIVE IS BACK ONLINE!
